The Megalodon is a retired supercar that was introduced in the 2017 Winter Update, alongside the Volt and the ATV. This car was the seventh most expensive vehicle in the game, and the third most expensive supercar, being costlier than the La Matador, Stallion, and JB8, yet still more affordable in relation to the Brulee and Torpedo, or, near the end of the Megalodon's obtainability, the Eclaire and Roadster. The Megalodon was deemed underwhelming by the community due to its price-to-performance ratio. The Megalodon was retired on July 12, 2020 as part of the Revamped Power Plant Update, along with the SUV and six vehicle textures. After its retirement, attempting to buy this vehicle will now notify the player with the text "Vehicle is retired" In 2021, the Megalodon was given pinstripes to denote its retired status and was renamed to "Megalodon" from "McLaren" later on as part of a wave of vehicle renaming, possibly to avoid copyright. However, the pinstripes marking its retirement were later replaced by a plaque saying "CLASSIC". Its drawbacks are top speed and acceleration, which although fast, are atill quite slow for its price. However, as of the August 2022 Update, the Megalodon received a significant acceleration and reverse speed buffs, with the top speed going from 165 to 198 MPH (later being slightly nerfed to 190 MPH). It got buffed again in October 2023, this time to 200 MPH, though this was a minor change. Everything considered, Megalodon is a great vehicle.
