The Steed (formerly named the Mustang before Miscellaneous Update 103) is a now-retired classic muscle car in Jailbreak. It came out alongside the Stallion and Monster Truck in the Monster Truck Update. The Steed was retired in the March 2020 Update, along with the Mighty and Brulee. When the Steed was retired, it received pinstripes going along the length of the vehicle, which could not be changed or removed, being a mark of its service. The Steed got a replacement in the "5 Days 5 Vehicles" update which was revealed to be the Challenger, a muscle car that spawns at Mountainside Town Gun Shop until the Power Plant was revamped, and the Challenger was moved there. However, it was moved back to the Gun Shop, proving that it was the replacement of the Steed. The Steed in terms of performance was rather mixed, having the best and worst of most cars, featuring quick launch and great braking, alongside a convenient spawn location, but the Steed had a few downsides. Among some of the things that made the Steed deemed a rather poor option to purchase were how it reacted to low-end devices/laggy internet, and its top speed and rather solid but still less than average acceleration. Like many cheaper cars, its top speed was below that of the Model 3, and the Steed's reaction to low-end devices/laggy internet was something not normal at the time. If the device the player is on has an FPS level of below 20, the Steed will start to rapidly bounce up and down, making it nearly impossible to drive. These factors drove players away from the car, despite being among one of the first cars players would see upon heading into the Mountainside Town as it spawned at the Mountainside Town Garage (original). It was retired in March 2020. While the Challenger is objectively a better vehicle, the Mustang's amazing handling allows it to handle tight corners better than the Challenger. Additionally, new affordable vehicles, such as the Ray, are slower than the Steed, which was once deemed slow. As for the Steed's speed, it is about the same as the Jeep. Overall, the Steed was a satisfactory vehicle for its price. It's handling and braking are amazing, and allow the Steed to be useful in many scenarios, though its low speed, poor acceleration and frequent bouncing on laggy devices/internet drove players away.
