How to trade safely in Jailbreak and avoid scams
Most people who lose items in Jailbreak do not get hacked. They agree to something that sounds reasonable, act quickly, and only realise afterwards what happened. Scams work on urgency, not on technical skill.
This guide covers the patterns that come up again and again, and a short checklist that stops nearly all of them.
The trust trade
Someone asks you to send your side first and promises to send theirs after. There is always a reason: their trade slots are full, they need to log out soon, they will add the rest next round.
There is no version of this that is safe. A trade either completes inside the trade window in one go, or it does not happen. If someone needs you to go first, walk away.
The last second swap
The trade looks correct, then the other side quietly removes or changes an item just before confirming. It relies on you glancing at the window once and clicking through.
Read the full contents of both sides immediately before your final confirm, every single time. If the window resets, read it again.
The middleman that nobody agreed on
A third person appears and offers to hold both sides. They are almost always working with the other trader. A middleman is only safe if you chose them yourself from a server you already trust, not if they turned up mid-conversation.
Fake sites and fake staff
You will be sent links to sites that promise free items, a value check, or a giveaway claim, and they will ask you to log in. Any page asking for your Roblox password or a login cookie is a theft attempt with no exceptions.
Real staff on any legitimate marketplace never ask for your account credentials and never need to log into your account to deliver an item. Delivery always happens through an in-game trade you approve.
- Never enter your Roblox password anywhere except roblox.com.
- Turn on two step verification on your Roblox account.
- Check the exact username of anyone claiming to be staff, not the display name.
A checklist that works
Run this before you confirm anything of value.
- Both sides are fully visible in the trade window at the same time.
- You have read every item name and every level number in full.
- Nobody has asked you to go first, split the trade, or move to a different site.
- You are not being rushed by a countdown, a deadline, or a story.
- You have a screenshot of the agreed terms before accepting.

Can Roblox recover items lost in a scam?
In almost all cases no. Trades you approve yourself are treated as intentional, which is why prevention matters more than reporting.
Is a middleman ever safe?
Only one you chose from a community you already trust, and only when both sides agreed on that person in advance.
What should I do if I already sent first?
Report the account to Roblox and to the server where the trade started, then stop engaging. Do not send more items to try to recover the first ones.
