How Jailbreak trading values actually work

Jailbreak has no official price index. Values are community estimates built from completed trades. When a large number of players repeatedly accept the same rough trade for an item, that becomes its accepted value.

That means values lag behind reality. After an update adds a new vehicle or removes an old one from the dealership, the community takes days or weeks to settle on a new number. During that window, prices swing hard and the players paying attention make the most profit.

Most lists show four things: value, demand, trend, and whether the item is limited. Value is the trading benchmark in in-game cash. Demand tells you how easy it is to move the item. Trend shows whether the value has been rising or falling recently.

Limited means the item is no longer obtainable in game. Limited items hold value better over time because supply can only shrink, but they can also stall for months if nobody is actively hunting them.

Two items listed at the same value can behave completely differently in a trade. One might be a vehicle everyone wants for a build, the other a cosmetic almost nobody asks for. The list treats them as equal; the trading floor does not.

This is why overpaying slightly for a high demand item is often smart. You can trade it again quickly, which matters more than squeezing the last few percent out of a single deal.

A duped item is one that was copied through an old exploit. It looks identical in game but the community treats it as separate stock, and it usually trades well below the clean version.

Never assume an item is clean because it looks right. Ask directly, and if you are trading something expensive, check the item history with the person you are dealing with before you accept.

A win-for-loss calculator adds up both sides and tells you the difference. It is a sanity check, not a verdict. A trade can be a small numerical loss and still be a good move if you are picking up something you can flip fast.

The reverse is also true. A trade that shows a big numerical win but leaves you holding three low demand items is often worse than it looks.
